Cecil Hay started the Reminder in 1949 in South Haven Michigan. In 1951 Elmer & Marne Owen purchased the Reminder. It was located in their basement until 1959 when they moved it to the current Bangor location. They continued to operate the publication printing and delivering each week until 1972 when their son Rick Owen took over.
In 1956 Web Geizer was hired for sales, printing , distribution and many other tasks and is still running the off-set press to this day.
In 2001 Mike & Kim Montoy purchased the Reminder from Rick Owen and are currently still printing and distributing this community paper each week.
